Permaculture Design Course

2-week Permaculture intensive.

  • Started 11 Apr
  • 2,200 Australian dollars
  • Anambah Road

Service Description

Permaculture is a whole systems approach to ecological planning and design – a way of thinking, based on a positive and creative solution-finding, that provides tools for working towards long term sustainability. It covers all aspects of human life and is grounded in practical real world design and extends into the complex realm of sustainable social design. The PDC teaches participants how to use information, resources and ethics to meet local needs on a limited land base, and teaches how we can utilise today’s tools and technology to shape a more sustainable and equitable world for all species. This course is an intensive two week program which includes learning the Permaculture ethics & principles & how they can be applied to real life contexts. Throughout the intensive, participants will have the opportunity to learn from a number of experts in the field of Permaculture. Some of the educators include: Kate & Mark from Purple Pear Farm, who have over 10 years experience delivering PDCs & over 20 years of practical knowledge, including running a successful market garden. Nigel Foxton from Purple Pear Education, who completed his PDC & internship alongside Kate & Mark in 2020 & now runs permaculture programs for children & adults. Shaynah Andrew from Purple Pear Harvest, who currently runs the market garden on the farm. Will Power from Maplewood Permaculture, who consults, runs workshops & crafts hand drawn permaculture designs locally, as well as maintaining his own thriving Permaculture garden. Experts in other relevant fields will be joining us throughout the course.
